Prague has so much to offer. One thing is fine dining which many do not know. No matter where you look, you see bars, nice cafés and good restaurants after another.

So it can be hard to find the best option for you. Therefore, here’s a little help with a list of the best cafés and bars in Prague that you shouldn’t miss out on your next visit. If you want to know more about the Golden City, check out my City Guide.

 

 

My favorite cafés

Café Louvre

Cafe Louvre was one of my favorite cafés in Prague. It exists for over 100 years now and already welcomed famous thinkers like Albert Einstein or Franz Kafka. Although it is a tourist hotspot, you should try it out just because of the location and the food. It serves great beef and dumplings, but also offers delicious cakes. 

 

 

 

Kafemat

Placed in a tiny neighborhood the small Kafemat can be easily overlooked, but is serves one of the best coffees in town. So if you are close to the district Prague 6, head to Kafemat and grab a good cup of coffee. You won’t be disappointed.

 

Super Tramp Coffee

If I would suggest a place to hang out during hot summer days and enjoy good coffee, then it will be the Super Tramp Coffee. It’s hidden in a courtyard of a former printing house. So finding it can be tricky. But once found you’re going to love it. Away from the crowd you not just enjoy good coffee, but also a various number of teas and wine. 

 

Yes Kafe

Looking for a small, hip and cozy café with good drinks to hang out for a while in the Letna district? Then Yes Kafe is your address. It is a great place for a coffee stop and also offers some sweets such as self-made cakes or cinnamon rolls. 

 

 

La Boheme Café

This one goes to all interior fans: La Boheme Café is a stylish café that’s located behind a designer furniture store. So furniture is written big here. That’s why you can enjoy your coffee in a comfortable sofa.

 

Cafefin

A stylish café with great Vietnamese food? That’s possible at Cafefin. You can get there a number of specialty coffee as well as Bánh mì baguette, mango salad and durian yoghurt. Cute, little and perfect for a coffee break. 

 

Café Savoy

If there is a perfect breakfast spot, it definitely is Café Savoy. They serve delicious French toast, brioche bread and omelets in an art deco atmosphere. The bakery downstairs is great for watching croissants, pastries and more in the making. If you want to go to Café Savoy you better book a table in advance since it can be very full. 

 

 

Muj Salek Kavy

Having your hotel in the Karlin district? Perfect! Then you shouldn’t miss out Muj Salek Kavy. It’s already a coffee institution and serves great coffee – especially during summer you have the opportunity to enjoy it in the outdoor seats.

 

Vnitroblock

One of the inspiring places for an afternoon break is Vnitroblock. It’s located in the Holešovice district and also hosts parties sometimes in the evening. It also includes a design shop and other things to explore. 

 

 

My favorite bars

Bar Cobra

During the day a café, at night a bar: Bar Cobra is an allrounder when it comes to bars in Prague. You find it on Milady Horakove and you can go there for a good coffee or enjoy great cocktails in an urban atmosphere.

 

Mad Bar

Want to enjoy good drinks and one of the best beers in the world? Then Mad Bar should be on your list. It is an authentic restaurant and bar with temporary art exhibitions and serves great food, too. 

 

 

Hemingway Bar

One of the best bars in Prague is definitely Hemingway Bar. It gets quite full since it’s always ranked in the top-lists, but it is absolutely worth it. Take a seat at the bar and watch how easy the bartenders prepare your cocktails. 

 

Jazz Dock

The Jazz Dock is a location you won’t forget for sure. It’s located on the Vltava River where you can relax and drink good cocktails while listening to live jazz music. The location on the river is perfect to hang out and leave your worries behind.

 

 

My favorite snacks

The most tradition snack is Trdelník. It’s a chimney cake that is made of rolled dough with cinnamon-sugar mixture on the outer side. You can have them with cream, Nutella or other things. But you should definitely try them fresh and hot. All over the city you will find lots of stands that makes them right from the fire. 

 

 

 

 

For all the vegans out there, Creme de la Creme is your spot when it comes to ice cream. They have sweet and spicy flavors and ice cream without sugar. Plus, you get an all-you-can-eat ice cream option for just 200 CZK (8€/9$). 

There are always long lines, but at Angelato you just find the best ice cream in Prague. They offer sorbets for those with lactose intolerance and have gluten-free cones for those who care.

 

 

 

 

What is more perfect than an ice cream sandwich on a hot summer day? Parlor will be your lifesaver and makes the best ice cream cookie sandwiches in Prague. Enjoy these sweet sins in a vintage location and repeat. Because you just can’t get enough of them. 

Up for some Belgian waffles? You find delicious hot waffles at the Finest Belgian Chocolates house where you can also buy delicious chocolates and pralines (also great as a gift).
